Ages 4-10. Bella couldn't wait to become a butterfly! She soon earned the nickname "Squirmy" from her mother because of her squirmy, impatient energy. Even when she was a tiny egg Squirmy was bored and restlesss. Her mother kept reminding her that constantly wishing for what's next makes it difficult to enjoy what is happening right now! Then she learned little tricks that would help her become more calm, focused and grateful. Soon, Squirmy realized that being mindful was easy to do, but tough to remember to do. So she kept practicing. Later, Squirmy began a very beautiful transformation and being mindful helped make it through with a big smile.
Mindfulness is the intentional, non-judgmental focus on the emotions, thoughts and sensations occurring in the present moment. Clinincal studies have documented the physical and mental health benefits from learning to become more mindful. Squirmy will help children learn these concepts and skills in this delightful tale of how she overcame several of her challenges.
